Did You Know? | Pūriri fruit are an imporant food source for kereru. Tui, kaka and kokako also eat the fruit. Tui, bellbirds, hihi, kokako, kaka and silvereyes feed on the floral nectar. Trunk cavities are nested in by kaka, karariki and hihi. Host tree for the native puriri moth (and wētā after the moth has left). |
